FAQ

What will happen at my first visit?
Dr. Kaufman will thoroughly examine your teeth to determine if you have bone loss or any signs of periodontal disease.

Will it hurt?

Dr. Kaufman will be as gentle as possible.

I am very anxious about my mouth and teeth, what can you suggest?
Dr. Kaufman is licensed by the State of California to perform IV conscious sedation.  Conscious sedation allows us to complete treatment while the patient is comfortably sedated.  You have no concept of time while under sedation, so long appointments seem to fly by.  You also have little or no recollection of the appointment once the sedation wears off.  This is a great option for anxious patients.

Will I need surgery?

It depends on the extent of your periodontal disease.  Dr. Kaufman will evaluate your individual situation and, together, you will discuss treatment options.  Not all conditions require surgery.

Can my teeth be saved?

Dr. Kaufman is able to save most teeth.

Do I need x-rays?

Please bring your x-rays if you already have them.  Let us know if none are available.
